Tracking dishwashing liquids in traditional trade shops
Small grocery shops near wet markets stock dishwashing liquids differently from hypermarkets. Our visit notes adapt to shorter shelves and mixed displays.
In Ward-level grocery shops, dishwashing liquids often share a metre of shelf with laundry soap and plastic basins. Facings still matter, but so does adjacency.
We sketch a simple bay map before counting: left-to-right SKU order, height of the main display, and whether sachets hang above the bottles.
Shopkeepers sometimes keep larger bottles behind the counter. If a pack is sold but not displayed, we note “counter stock mentioned” rather than inventing a facing.
Assortment reviews for traditional trade therefore use a lighter checklist — presence, approximate price board, and whether refill sachets dominate the sale.
Clients expanding beyond modern trade use these notes to judge whether a new scent or pack size has a path into neighbourhood shops.
