How we count detergent facings without slowing the aisle
A practical look at facing counts for laundry powders and liquids during quiet mid-morning visits in Ho Chi Minh City hypermarkets.
Laundry detergent shelves change quickly after weekend promotions. Our field teams prefer mid-morning midweek visits when restocking is usually finished and shoppers are still light.
We count visible front-facing units for each agreed SKU, then note empty hooks or crushed packs that distort the picture. Powder tubs and liquid bottles are logged separately because pack depth differs.
When a facing is blocked by a hung sachet strip, we photograph the obstruction and record the facing behind it separately. That keeps the audit honest without asking staff to rearrange the bay.
Clients often ask whether private-label powders should share the same facing table. We keep them on a parallel line so brand managers can see pressure without mixing ownership.
The goal is a calm, repeatable count — not a race through the aisle. Consistency across stores matters more than squeezing an extra location into a tired afternoon.
